Composing and listening to interactive music in virtual spaces: Integrating Wwise and Unity to compose an electroacoustic work

This research explores musical creation within virtual environments through the development of an interactive electroacoustic piece using Unity 3D and the Wwise audio engine. It draws upon the concept of digimodern aesthetics, grounded in Alan Kirby’s theory and its extension to interactive art by Tetiana Humeniuk. Employing a practice-based research methodology, the project culminated in the piece CARTESIUS, where the listener interacts with the virtual space, dynamically influencing the sound structure in real time. The work aims to broaden the creative and perceptual possibilities of active listening within immersive digital contexts.
